Antics Flipbooks creates a fun, interactive atmosphere at your event. All ages will enjoy creating custom flipbooks and watching other guests use props, signs, and their own imaginations to create unique video clips. All we need is a 12 foot x 12 foot area, one standard wall outlet, and two 6-foot tables. Ceiling clearance must be over 8 feet to ensure there is space to set up the backdrop. If necessary we are happy to work with your venue to coordinate prior to your event.

Flip books are small books that contain a series of pictures. When the pages of the flip book are turned rapidly, the pictures give the illusion of movement. The first flip book was patented in 1868 and was made with drawings. Antics Flipbooks’ modern version uses technology to turn a short video clip that your guests make into a unique, personalized party favor while they wait! We love the outdoors, especially when there isn’t snow on the ground! That said, our equipment does need protection from wind, rain, and extreme temperatures. Please let us know if your event will be outside so we can work out the logistics and provide you with an accurate price quote.

As many as you can fit and see on our screen within the 6 second video clip! Usually between 3-5 people can easily fit into an Antics flipbook, though our record is 12 people!

We average 40-50 flipbooks per hour. This number all depends on the cooperation of the guests and the number of retakes and copies they want us to do.

Yes and no. Let us explain how we operate to make it fair for all of your guests. Since it takes us a couple of minutes to make each flipbook, if we make 4 flipbooks of the same group of people, the next person has to wait almost 10 minutes before we can begin working on his or her flipbook. The result is a long line of people waiting around for their flipbooks and not enjoying your party! So our solution is to make one flipbook for the group and tell them that if they’d like a copy to bring it back to us when we aren’t as busy. We can pull up the saved file and make copies as time permits. This is great for you because we keep the line moving and are still making flipbooks when we aren’t recording new antics! If you would like a copy after the event, you can order reprints through this website - see FAQ 13 for details.

Custom covers are a great way to personalize your flipbooks and are included in the base package price! Covers can be any color and include names, dates, pictures, and other personal touches that reflect you or your event. Contact us to plan and approve your design at least 2 weeks in advance of your event.

One option is to insert a custom message that will scroll across the bottom of the flipbooks' pages. Another is to go "old school" and have black & white pictures in your flipbooks! We can also use green screen technology to incorporate a custom background for your flipbooks.

Nothing beats a roadtrip! Antics Flipbooks is based in Madison but will travel to your events in Milwaukee, Appleton, Green Bay, or virtually any other venue in Cheesehead Country. A mileage fee will apply for locations more than 50 miles away from Madison (53593 zip code). Please see our Packages page for more details.

None at all! The cost of producing the books on site is included in our Base Package.

It's easy! Just email the name and date of the event you attended (e.g. Lori's retirement party, July 14, 2011), the flipbook ID (found on the second-to-last page of the flipbook), the number of reprints you would like, and your address to info@anticsflipbooks.com. Reprints are $10 each which includes tax and shipping (within the US). Please note that we only keep the electronic flipbook files for three months after each event.

Absolutely! This is a great idea for Save the Dates or to commemorate a special event, for example your baby’s first steps, graduation, or your adorable new puppy. Please edit the video to your favorite 6-second clip and, if possible, ensure that it is in .avi or .wmv format. Additional video guidelines and pricing information can be found on our Orders page.
